did you plug the usb to your pc and do the firmware upgrade again?

@arjiew. try putting files in amss ,rsrc1 ,rsrc2,csc,factory fs and shp app. and uncheck boot. it should work after for sure. i stayed up all night figuring out how to restore my broken phone after following admin's instructions. note* i put low version in rsrc2 and it worked.havn't tried yet what will happen if you chose mid in rsrc 2. HOPE IT HELPED

i've been trying all firmwares from samfirmwares low or mid and now i'm using the asian firmware. i didn't have any problems upgrading my phone. just follow the instructions step by step and let the phone do the installing

i think your phone is broken 
if the firmware still doesn't work maybe you'll have to take it to your phone provider to repair it.

after you click download error occurs as ''Warring : Security fail
is that the message multiloader said.
i think you did it wrong again sir when that error occurs
follow the instruction admin posted
then plug your usb and phone
click port search - 1st box from the left there you'll see your phone model like this ---- COM - [S3850]
your phone is now detected
if the settings and files are properly set click download.
just follow the instructions next
don't turn on your phone when the downloads complete. let the phone boots by it self until you see the corby 2 home screen.
now you can turn off your phone put your sim and mmc.

6>Click Amss button and locate the "apps_compressed.bin" file
Click Rsrc1 button and locate the "xxxxxxx.rc1" file
Click Rsrc2 button and locate the "xxxxxxx.rc2" file
Click Factory FS button and locate the "xxxxxx.ffs" file
Click Boot and locate the "BOOTFILES" Folder.
Now click Port Search and then click Download.
Wait for ~10 mins. After that, remove the USB Cord and detach your phone.
Restart your phone.
Done! Your new firmware is installed!

sir ..i followed every step on your guide ..and i thought for a moment that it would work ..but after i saw a sign ..sumting like wait for 30 sec ..after that ..after rebooting ..while still connected on pc ..there is an unusual screen that displays

do the upgrade procedure again. i think the firmware you downloaded is corrupted. try downloading the firmware at samfirmware.
follow the video tutorial and text instruction also use windows 7.

in addtion to what admin have said, load the XXXXX.app in the shp app and the XXXXX.csc in csc of the multiloader and then click the download, I recommend upgrading to the version that is compatible where you are.. i.e. your in america use the american firmware.. just register to samfirmware to get firmware of s3850

why admin said that only rsc and amss file and boot to update the firmware but doen said it should add shapp and csc file on the multi loader and then port search then download,,,why the admin instruction is wrong,,,,admin explain it to us....

after i did all the instructions perfectly...my cellphone dont start up..i mean... it blinks...turns ON and OFF all the time...is this normal?how to fix this to use the new firmware coz its like my cellphone is now brick??.....

that's normal if you followed the first post .. you need to flash it again.. try taking out the battery and go to download mode again(power key,down button and call button) and put your usb cable between the cellphone and computer again, run the multiloader follow the instructions and add the .csc and .app to the CSC and SHPAPP respectively.. and wait for 8 mins the corby 2 will be fully functional..
